A Common Digital Infrastructure for Norwegian Elite Football
Collaboration between NTF and Technology Partners
Norwegian Elite Football (NTF) offers tailored services for data center and network solutions – developed in collaboration with technology partners with experience from live sports and stadium experiences.
The goal is to provide football clubs with stable, secure, and scalable solutions that make both match days and daily operations more efficient.
The Football Digital Platform (FDP)
Since 2012, NTF has built a national network together with, among others, Telenor, TV 2, Villmark, Cenera, Friday Networks, HUDL, and Lime CRM.
This network covers all stadiums in the Eliteserien and OBOS-ligaen, and is used for everything from TV production and LED screens to the club’s internet and security solutions.
The solutions are delivered through the Football Digital Platform (FDP) – a common ecosystem for the clubs, where NTF is responsible for operation, security, monitoring, and continuous development of the shared services.
Case Study: New Network at Høddvoll
Project Background
Ahead of the 2025 season, Hødd IL took the initiative to upgrade the infrastructure at Høddvoll.
The club wanted to consolidate several services under one common provider and eliminate unnecessary duplicate deliveries.
In dialogue with NTF, the club was introduced to FDP and the many solutions that could be integrated directly at the stadium.
The Services Selected
Hødd chose a comprehensive integration with FDP, including the following solutions and services:
- Connection to NTF’s national 10 Gbps fiber network, provided by Telenor.
- Internet with high uptime, 24/7 monitoring, and a secure firewall solution.
- Analysis of network needs and coverage, with consulting from Villmark.
- WiFi and LAN solution delivered as a service, including Cisco Meraki equipment.
- Connection of HUDL analysis cameras via secure lines.
- Control of LED boards, large screen, and VIP screens provided by Cenera.
- Dedicated networks for ticketing systems, kiosks, referees, security, lighting control, and club offices.
- GDPR-compliant login portal for the public integrated with Lime CRM.
- Coordination and operation in collaboration with NTF’s permanent network partner Villmark AS.
Results and Benefits
Efficient Operation and Lower Costs
By connecting to NTF’s shared services, Hødd achieved lower setup and operating costs, stable and secure internet access with high uptime, as well as a reduced need for local suppliers.
The solution was tailored to the club’s needs, and all deliveries were completed before the start of the 2025 season.
Improved Coverage, Security, and User Experience
Hødd now has a robust network that covers the entire stadium – from stands and kiosks to club offices and press areas.
The public gains secure WiFi access via a login portal, and the club can build fan loyalty and data-driven communication through integration with the CRM system.
The upgrade has also provided better support for LED screens, video streams, and analysis tools like HUDL, and ensures that all technical systems interact seamlessly during match days.
